About a year ago I had a very small company, just 12 employees and not that many clients, so I saw no prospects in building my own CRM system. I’ve tried out a few popular platforms with ready-made solutions and they were kind of fine. However, soon I got really tired and irritated by the smallest inconveniences and restrictions, so I’ve decided to take a risk and invest in my own CRM system. So… was it worth it?

Many articles on the internet say that it is almost always a mistake and not worth the money and trouble. So I was a little bit scared of all those warnings until I started to pay attention to the websites they were placed on. 9 out of 10 those types of articles are biased as their main goal is to sell you one of those ready-made CRM solutions subscriptions. I’m not saying that everything that they write there is a lie, however please be aware of their causes and use your critical thinking skills while making the final decision.

So I’ve decided to invest. Invest is the best word to describe this as it is indeed a mechanism for generating future income. It's a bit pricey, I’m not going to lie, but it's worth every penny. Automation and analytics tools alone can cover the work of a few employees. I wish I’ve done that sooner as it gave my company such a growth boost. We’ve managed to significantly grow our client base in such short terms and I didn’t have to hire new employees right away as my CRM system did a huge part of the work, so it wasn’t necessary. But then things  escalated quickly and when I finally employed new people, I didn’t have to pay anything extra, as the system is scalable and has no restrictions. 

There is no ready-made CRM template that can meet all the needs of your industry. You can have a completely unique product developed with your own design and almost any functionality. Every little detail can be tailored strictly according to your preferences. As you can see my experience was very positive, so if you’ve got the resources for it and are still doubting, I recommend to give it a try and I’m almost 100% sure you won’t regret it.
